It’s E-18, and we’re still buzzing from last Friday’s massive climate strikes. Nearly a million people turned out all across Canada at almost 300 events making September 27th the biggest climate mobilization in Canadian history by a long shot.
Our key message: let’s carry this momentum through the election. Our Time hubs have big plans for the next 3 weeks. Join an event close to you!
Check out our national flickr album to see some of our favourite photos from the climate strikes.
We’ll keep it simple this week. We just want to highlight the next steps we’re taking to turn this outpouring of energy into momentum for a made-in-Canada Green New Deal.
We got started last night with a mass organizing call where people from all across the country joined to plug into Our Time. If you missed it, you can click here to watch the recording.
Here is what you need to know:
- On the call, dozens of people committed to have 1:1 conversations with people about how they can vote for a Green New Deal this election — can you do the same? We created a toolkit to help out and you can download it here.

- There are also events scheduled across the country to welcome new people to the Our Time campaign, you can click here to find one near you.
- And, we’re gearing up for another big day on October 7th, during the English leaders’ debate. If you’re in Ottawa, the local Our Time team will be at the debates, making sure that climate is on the agenda. If you’re not, you can either join a local watch party or sign up for our digital watch party, where we’ll be looking to see which party leaders really got the message on September 27th.
