What is a Green New Deal?

A Green New Deal is an ambitious vision for tackling the climate crisis in a way that also addresses other crises we face, from rising cost of living, growing inequity, and lack of affordable housing, to implementing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and challenging the rise of racism and xenophobia. People from all walks of life are convening to define exactly what it will look like. Learn more about the national movement to create Canada’s Green New Deal.

Organized to Change the Debate

Youth-led Our Time Hubs made waves across the country and collected 500,000+ signatures to push the CBC to host a climate leaders’ debate.

Got Out the Vote for Election 2019

Organized behind Green New Deal Champions to elect a squad of MPs to send to Ottawa that are committed to fighting the climate crisis and rising inequality.

Climate Strike

Organized post-secondary campus walk-outs for the climate strike on September 27th, and connected with thousands of people ready to make the climate crisis and a Green New Deal front and centre during the federal election.

October 28th

27 young people were arrested for occupying the House of Commons. They brought mandate letters from their generation for the newly elected MPs to work across party lines and govern for a Green New Deal.
