Breen Ouellette is a Métis lawyer from Saskatchewan with a background in the labour movement. He also worked on the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (and Two-Spirit People), which he left because of problems he saw in the inquiry process. His nominators were impressed with his willingness to challenge institutions, his understanding of “accountability and consequences” and his experience both as a lawyer and a grassroots organizer.
